A plain explanation of the small files our website may store in your browser, what they do and how you can control them.
Keep the website secure, protect forms from spam and remember log-ins for site administrators. These cannot be switched off.
Remember small preferences, such as a dismissed notice, so the site works the way you left it.
Set by services we embed, such as the Google Map on our Contact page, when you interact with them.
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your browser when you visit. They help the site remember information about your visit — for example that you are logged in, or that you have already seen a message. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way and are covered by this policy too.
We keep cookies to a minimum. Our website does not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell any information gathered through cookies. The cookies that may be set fall into the three groups shown above.
| Cookie / Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| wordpress_test_cookie | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies | Session |
| wordpress_logged_in_* / wp-settings-* | Keeps site administrators signed in and remembers dashboard preferences (staff only) | Up to 1 year |
| wfwaf-authcookie-* (Wordfence) | Security firewall check for signed-in administrators | Up to 12 hours |
| Fluent Forms | Protects our contact and newsletter forms against spam submissions | Session |
| Google Maps (google.com) | Loads the interactive map on the Contact page and may remember your map preferences | Set by Google |
When you view the embedded map, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address. Their use of data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy. Our website also loads web fonts so the pages display correctly; this request shares your IP address with the font provider but does not set cookies.
You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop some parts of the site, such as forms, from working properly. Blocking third-party cookies will not affect your ability to read our pages.
If we introduce new tools — for example website analytics — we will update this page before they go live and, where required, ask for your consent first.
